MANAH: The Sultan Qaboos Institute for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers welcomed 50 students who enrolled in the Institute’s 64th course.

The Institute is located in the Wilayat of Manah, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.

The students represent 16 countries from different countries of the world, namely from Russia, Belarus, Switzerland, Hungary, Armenia, Türkiye, France, Slovakia, the UK, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, China, Tanzania and Australia.

This reflects the Institute’s ongoing efforts to promote the Arabic language and enhance its global presence, in addition to introducing the Sultanate of Oman’s culture, heritage and civilisation.

The Institute organised an orientation programme for the new students. The programme dealt with educational and administrative systems, academic curricula and relevant cultural activities.

The course focuses on developing the students’ linguistic skills, including listening, speaking, reading and writing.

The course constitutes an educational approach that integrates theory and practice. This helps students achieve the level of proficiency needed to use the Arabic language effectively in various real-life and communicative situations.

The Institute also organises cultural activities and field trips to historical and tourist sites in Oman. Through its Arabic language courses, the Institute also seeks to contribute to fostering cultural exchange and promoting civilisational dialogue among peoples.

The Sultan Qaboos Institute for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers provides an educational environment that combines academic study with cultural experience — thereby consolidating Oman’s position as a destination for learning the Arabic language and exploring its culture and civilisation. — ONA
